Alcove units — TV media on one side, bookshelves on the other in Victorian chimney-breast pairs. Panelling — Shaker, Georgian, modern slat for hallways/bedrooms/dining rooms. Kitchen carcass + doors — full bespoke (no IKEA carcass). Window seats, banquettes, bay-window benches with storage.
Material and finish
MDF (primed and sprayed) — most fitted joinery; smooth, paintable finish; £900–£1,800 per linear metre baseline. Veneered ply (oak, walnut, ash) — premium £1,500–£2,800 per linear metre. Solid timber doors — character-grade, £1,800–£3,800. Hardware: soft-close hinges, push-to-open, integrated handles, LED strips inside cabinets.
Programme and process
Site survey → CAD design → client sign-off → workshop manufacture (4–8 weeks) → site fit (1–4 days per unit). Always allow workshop lead time when sequencing renovation programme. Best done after plaster, before flooring, painted last for clean finish.
