Loft insulation top-up to 300mm: £300–£800. Cavity wall insulation: £800–£1,800. LED lighting throughout: £400–£900. Heating controls and TRVs: £400–£900. Hot water cylinder jacket: £40–£80. Often shifts D→C in pre-1970 cavity stock.
Mid-scope (E→C, £8k–£20k)
Adds boiler replacement (efficient combi or system): £2,400–£4,500. Floor insulation: £1,500–£3,500. Secondary glazing or some double glazing replacement: £3,500–£12,000. Mechanical extract ventilation: £1,500–£3,000. Typical for inter-war stock with solid floors.
Heavy retrofit (F→C, £20k–£40k+)
Internal or external wall insulation (solid wall): £8,000–£25,000+. Heat pump replacing gas: £12,000–£20,000 (offset by £7,500 BUS). Full triple glazing: £15,000–£35,000. MVHR system: £8,000–£15,000. Pre-1919 solid brick London terraces and Victorian stock. PAS 2035 retrofit coordinator strongly recommended.
