Door types
Flush (smooth-face) doors — modern minimalist, cheapest. Panelled doors — 4-panel, 6-panel, Victorian shaker; standard heritage spec. Glazed doors — half-glass or full-glass French/double doors for lounge or garden access; toughened safety glass required at low level. Fire doors — FD30 (30-min) required between integral garage and house, between flats, and on escape routes in HMOs/converted flats. Solid-core doors — heavier, better acoustic, premium feel.
